What did you do right after high school?

Attended the University of Wisconsin –Madison (BS 1967) In 1966 I married Bob Park, WFB class of ‘60, and divorced in 1981.

Voluntary Activities including Peace Corps.

I was a member of the City of Madison Community Services Commission for six years in the 1990s, vice chair twice and chair for nearly two years. I was a board member of the Madison YWCA for six years in the 1980s, vice president for three years. I was vice president of my local union and delegate to the local Federation of Labor for many years. I helped form a local State Employees union and served on its first statewide board. I occassionally read the news on a local labor radio show. I have been a member of several Share-the-Care teams for friends with cancer and other health issues, and organized and ran two. I helped on numerous local political campaigns.

Have you had different careers?

I was a career bureaucrat with the State of Wisconsin. I helped youth find jobs when the first high school draftees were returning from Viet Nam - a daunting task since most employers didn't want to hire them because "they had no experience." Most of my bureaucratic career I was a research analyst for the employment service, social services, and public health.

I am currently a Brand Partner with Lucrazon Global, an integrated ecommerce company with very competitive rates for ecommerce and merchant services.

Fun or interesting "adventures" or one of the high points of your life.

I’ve jumped off a redwood in Muir Woods and gone whitewater rafting, but those kind of things didn’t hold a candle to some of my adventures of being a mother.

What do you do with your spare time? What are you passionate about?

I love to play duplicate bridge (especially tournaments), bike and swim outside, take warm water classes at the health club, read fiction, go to plays, and work in and then eat from my vegetable garden. I’m passionate about saving the environment and a number of progressive social issues.

Have you lived one of your dreams?

Yes, being retired from the bureaucracy. I loved my job much of the time, but retirement is much much more fun. And now I'm getting to help people save money.

Publications or recordings? Ex: books, articles, films, music.

Researched and coauthored a preliminary report of breast cancer incidence in Wisconsin by zip code for a Wisconsin legislator. It was published in a 1997 Wisconsin Medical Journal. The report showed that the two zip codes in Wisconsin with the highest incidence were 53217 (Milwaukee North Shore including Whitefish Bay) and an area in and around Green Bay. I authored numerous annual and special reports about public health, cancer, hospitalizations, disparities in infant mortality, child abuse, day care, and social services.

Ron was an incredibly nice person who accomplished great things in his life. He was a founding director of a service that trains family physicians in acute hospital care. He was a leading expert in AIDS/HIV care from the start of the epidemic. He was a co-founder of a national center that provides free consultations on improved HIV care to physicians across the country. It is impossible to calculate how many lives he was responsible for saving. Here are a few links to read more about him.

From her facebook page on October 13, 2014:

Daughters of Patricia Wolters Neideffer (Tracy Anello, Teri Munsch, and Toni Stangohr) would like to share the news of her passing. While from Milwaukee, our Mom spent most of the last 30 years in AZ with a few years in MO, and most recently in SC. After being diagnosed with colon cancer she moved back to WI to be closer to family. She passed away Wednesday October 8th. For those who knew our Mom it will not surprise you to know she did not wish us to have any formal services. We are in the process of arranging a donation link to the Cancer Center at Froedtert Hospital where she received excellent care. Details will be forthcoming. We loved our Mom dearly and will miss her very much.
