college to flunk out and then the navy. spent most of navy career in southeast asia. was the first to know that the uss pueblo had been boarded and captured by north korea. Worked in Naval Intelligence and was in Vietnam 7 separate times. I got married while stationed in philippines.

too many to count. journalist, tv host, tv news director, assistant superintendent of schools, government aide, author, actor, radio talk show host, ball room dancing instructor, volunteer reading tutor, shaman.

I have had countless highs and lows. Life for me has been an adventure, and like all adventures, there have been wonderful things and some not so wonderful things. I think I've always had a sense of letting things spiral both in and out of control. Many of my wounds are self-inflicted, but many of my triumphs are self-won. I guess it all evens out in the end. Still working hard to lose weight.

I played golf for over 45 years but gave it up two years ago. too difficult, too expensive, too much time. soooooo much happier. play guitar and still have a rock and roll band, although our gigs are far and few between now. politically active, died in the wool liberal.

I've lived lots of dreams and nightmares. They have all combined to make me who I am. Happy with myself most of the time. My legacy is my children and my grandchildren. I've left joy in some, heartbreak in others. One thing that can be said is that I have had an impact. That, I guess, has always been important to me.

After my wife passed I was shattered. A young woman I know asked me one day if I wanted to go to mass with her and her husband. I did and to make a long story short, I was, to my amazement, confirmed in the Roman Catholic church. Changed me significantly. Brought me peace. Still amazed.
