Judith Kahn (nee Ottenstein) of Fox Point died on Dec. 6 of colon cancer. She was 64.

A native of South Bend, Ind., and a graduate of Whitefish Bay High School in 1962, she attended the University of Wisconsin campuses in Milwaukee and Madison. In 1966, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in social work.

Kahn was a member of Congregation Sinai. According to her family, she was an artist and loved teaching children about famous artists. She developed special programs for children at the Milwaukee Art Museum and Mequon Jewish Preschool.

She also had managed the children’s book department at Audubon Court Books and volunteered in schools in Milwaukee and Naples, Fla.

Her family described her as “a fun-loving, vibrant, cheerful person who lived life to its fullest.” Kahn also was particularly interested in home decorating, bike riding and spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Weil, she is survived by husband Richard Kahn; sons Jeffrey (Monica) Weil of Whitefish Bay and Joseph (Christine) Weil of Brown Deer; stepdaughter Julie (Brad) Squires of Springfield, Mo.; stepson Michael (Margaret) Kahn of Whitefish Bay; and eight grandchildren.

Blane Goodman Funeral Service handled funeral and burial arrangements. Rabbi David Cohen officiated at funeral services. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery on Dec. 8.
