Anne L. Arizala obituary, 1943-2018, Ann Arbor, MI

Arizala , Anne L. 11/20/1943 - 5/2/2018 Ann Arbor, MI Anne Ludden Arizala, born November 20, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John Burdette and Frances (Marten) Ludden, peacefully went to our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven on May 2, 2018 at the age of 74 after a long illness. She was also a survivor of esophageal cancer diagnosed in September, 2008. Anne graduated high school from Whitefish Bay in Milwaukee, WI. She came to Ann Arbor, Michigan where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in education at the University of Michigan. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Anne eventually retired as a clerk at the Association for Asian studies, at the University of Michigan in 2008. Anne married the love of her life Andy A. Arizala, on May 15, 1965 at the University Lutheran Chapel (ULC) of Ann Arbor. They met as undergraduates and attended the ULC and they baptized their firstborn, Heidi, there in 1971. They have been members of the ULC and St. Luke Lutheran Church for over 56 years. Her favorite pastime hobbies were reading, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, computer app games, following current politics and online shopping. The highlight of her life was her interactions with her five grandchildren. Anne is survived by her husband of 53 years Andy Arizala, and their two children Heidi and Scott. Heidi lives in Redmond, WA with her husband Ken Showman and their two children Harrison (15) and Isabella (13). Scott lives in Ann Arbor with his wife Karin and their three children Linnea (9), Desmond (6) and Griffin (4). Anne was preceded in death by her parents John Burdette Ludden and Frances Marten Habbe, and her brother John Ludden, MD. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, from 10:00am until 12:00pm, a service at 12:00pm, and a luncheon to follow at the University Lutheran Chapel located on 1511 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. If you choose to attend, please wear blue as it was her absolute favorite color. Anne truly found beauty in everything and she would be so happy to see you celebrating her life with color! In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in honor of Anne L. Arizala to the Hope Medical Clinic, Inc. at P. O. Box 980311, Ypsilanti, MI 48198-0311, and to the University Lutheran Chapel at 1511 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
