Freya Teplinsky 

Freya Teplinsky of Northridge, California, died Oct. 10, 2021 

Freya was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 8, 1944, and graduated from Whitefish Bay High School, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and California State University-Northridge.  

She enjoyed time with family, volunteering at Temple Ramat Zion, collecting dolls and bison. She also treasured traveling, especially in her motorhome and camping with her friends from a Jewish camping club.  

Freya is survived by spouse Allan Teplinsky. Freya is further survived her two sons Michael and Danny; their wives Debbie and Renee; her four grandchildren, Devon, Max, Alexis and Courtney; her younger siblings Janis, Jeffrey and Jennifer; as well as their spouses Gary, Barbara and Paul, in addition to many cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. 

Family and community were Freya’s purpose and passion. Her greatest joy was laughing with her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was able to laugh at herself and her own idiosyncrasies. She found purpose in helping others and had a real passion for animals. Freya found great joy in her Jewish heritage and giving to the Jewish community, dedicating a tremendous amount of time to her synagogue and fundraisers. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Her memory will be cherished eternally. 

Burial was Oct. 14. at Eden Memorial Park with Groman Eden Mortuary in Mission Hills, California.

Lauren (Patty) Karr (Golden)

Several years ago Freya and I discovered that we only live about 2 hours from each other.  We started a lively and fun email correspondence.  She was so full of life and I am sad to hear of her death.  We tapered our connection little by little since our lifestyles were quite different but I have warm memories of her.
