Susan Patricia Nickoll, 65, of Chapel Court in Columbus, Indiana, died Friday, November 27, 2009, at 8:00 p.m. at Four Seasons Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She graduated from Whitefish Bay High School (Milwaukee) in 1962 and from the University of Wisconsin in 1966. Following graduation, she worked for the State of Wisconsin. She and her family moved to Columbus in 1973.

As a young mother, Mrs. Nickoll was a Brownie Troop leader and a volunteer aide at Richards School. Mrs. Nickoll enjoyed reading and had a particular interest in mysteries. Ten years ago she co-founded and led the “Mystery Lovers Book Club,” a group of approximately 15 women who meet monthly to discuss books and authors from a wide range of mystery genres. As a devoted grandmother, she cherished the time she spent with her two young grandchildren.

Mrs. Nickoll was born March 29, 1944 in Asheville, NC, the daughter of John and Lois Roegge Foley. She spent her youth in Milwaukee, WI. She married James Edward Nickoll on August 9, 1969.

Survivors include her husband; a son, John (Janna) Nickoll of Columbus, Indiana; a daughter, Rebecca (Scott Jester) Nickoll of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Judah Nickoll and Jasper Nickoll; a brother John (Ann) Foley of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and a niece, Jennifer Zaccagino of Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Nickoll was preceded in death by her parents.
